The Health Informatics Society of Australia (HISA) is pleased to invite you to respond to our Call for Submissions for HIC 2014. We seek industry and clinical professionals to contribute to and participate in Australia’s largest electronic health and informatics event. The theme for 2014 is “Investing in e-Health: People, knowledge and technology for a healthy future” where in particular we will be focusing on the capability, skills and workforce requirements to implement and support the advancements in electronic health now and into the future. Your submissions will contribute to the professional knowledge, learning and growing experience of e-health application in Australia and the broader region. Your submissions have the opportunity to raise the profile and influence the e-health agenda and policy debate in Australia. We look forward to hearing from you.

Authors are encouraged to submit under the following HIC 2014 themes and health informatics speciality areas:
- Opendata - data as a resource which while protecting the privacy of individuals can support their direct care, improve knowledge of effective care and disease processes, epidemiology and service planning
- Building capacity/health workforce - requirements, initiatives, inhibitors and opportunities for workforce development
- Better healthcare system for economic and social good
- Enabling and supporting research in health informatics - requirements for HI research, inhibitors in the current system, successful approaches

Industry/clinical case study submissions require a 650 word abstract describing what you would like to speak on. Presenting at HIC
is a fantastic way to partner with healthcare facilities, clinicians, vendors and others to present a compelling case for the value of 'on the
shop floor' implementations and issues and to get feedback from your peers. All submissions will be double-blind peer reviewed to ensure that
only the best content ends up on the HIC program.
All submissions will be given automatic entry to HISA's Don Walker Award.
