The Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine

The Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine The Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) was founded by rural doctors and is accredited nationally by the Australian Medical Council for the specialty of General Practice. The Fellowship of ACRRM (FACRRM) covers the broad scope of rural and remote general practice. This unique qualification verifies that a Fellow has achieved the levels of experience, knowledge and advanced skills - such as surgery, obstetrics, anaesthetics, or emergency medicine - to work unsupervised anywhere. Our Fellows work in private general practice, hospital based medicine, Aboriginal medical services, retrieval and emergency medicine, as GP anaesthetists, GP obstetricians and others - often in two or more roles concurrently. The College currently provides three training pathways to Fellowship for doctors who have general registration in Australia, and an assessment pathway for suitably qualified international medical graduates seeking Fellowship. The College supports members throughout their careers with quality programs and services, such as continuing professional development, clinical guidelines for smart phones, a national telemedicine hub, a dedicated annual rural medicine conference, and accredited procedural workshops.
