Read Bio Dr Ewen McPhee is a rural GP since completing his intern year in 1986. He is a long term resident of Emerald Queensland, having owned my Practice since 1992. He started as a GP Supervisor in 1997 with the RACGP Family Medicine Program and has been associated with QRME and CSQTC Training Consortia since the development of Regional training. Dr McPhee has remained active in Anaesthetics and Obstetrics as a VMO Emerald Hospital, but most of my work is in primary care service delivery. He is the Practice Principal of Emerald Medical Group delivering primary care services to Emerald since 1992. He has been a member of the Central Queensland Rural Division of General Practice (CQRDGP) Board on and off since its inception. In 2011/12 he served as Rural Doctors Association as Queensland President. The inaugural Board of the Central Queensland Medicare Local (CQML) was formed in July 2012, where he has been deputy chair of this primary care organisation since that time. Dr McPhee has incorporated telehealth into his practice and facilitated the excellent work of specialist clinicians in delivering remote care to country patients. This has improved patient access, reduced the costs of care and promoted quality medical education for medical students and GP Training registrars. |
