The CSIRO E-Health Research Program is the largest coordinated e-health research activity in Australia, spanning health services and health and biomedical informatics research, and encompassing the Australian E-Health Research Centre. CSIRO scientists work with our clinical and health service partners to improve access to health services via broadband and mobile communication platforms, develop tools for operational and clinical productivity and improve patient safety and health outcomes. CSIRO's Health Services group develop new ways of providing health services remotely. The group has recently led a number of world leading trials including the first randomised controlled mobile-health trial, Australia's largest tele-home care randomised controlled trial over the NBN and a trial of screening services to remote Australia using the NBN satellite. CSIRO is helping clinicians to do their job better with support tools for clinical decision-making. We are enabling better access to services for remote communities.
