| CSIRO |
CSIRO is involved in some of the biggest big data challenges in science. Across different application areas, from astronomy, biology, mining, new materials
manufacturing and environment, CSIRO researchers are using the large amounts of data generated in a whole chain approach, beginning with how the data is
generated, to how decisions are made based on that data. In healthcare, large amounts of data are being captured and stored daily – in health information
systems, health related sensors, from new imaging and genomic sequences. CSIRO is using this information to improve the cost-effectiveness of services in
our health system, offering better access, greater efficiency and higher quality healthcare. These tools complement the use of big data analytics in
areas of healthcare such as genomic sequencing and biomedical imaging that can help clinicians to do their job better with support tools for clinical
decision-making. CSIRO and the Australian E-Health Research Centre are working with the health sector to address the challenges of our healthcare system
with practical, digitally enabled solutions. We have the skills and expertise to develop robust digital productivity tools to improve workflows, realise
operational efficiencies and better manage resources. With new and intelligent tools that improve the way health services are delivered, CSIRO is helping
build a sustainable health system for Australia.
