E-health records and people with disabilities: Strengthening consumer health informatics

This half-day seminar will highlight factors affecting implementation of the Australian e-health Record “Personally Controlled Electronic Health Record” (soon to be renamed My Health Record (MyHR)) for people who might benefit the most - people with disabilities affecting their ability to communicate their health history, symptoms, and health information in a timely way.

The information presented in this seminar will help disability organisations, people with a disability, and their family carers or paid carers to understand more about the e-health record and issues to consider when beginning to use the system to improve health information exchange.
It will also help to guide policy makers and industry members seeking to improve implementation of e-health records in the disability sector.

Come along and share your own views and experiences, as the seminar will have an interactive focus and also discussion with the panel of experts to guide further work on improving implementation for people with a communication difficulty.

Outcomes of the seminar will also inform the development of guidance for people with disabilities, families and disability services providers on use of the e-health record.
