Giving them a better chance in life: Analytics meets early childhood
development and HISA South Australia AGM
While everyone understands the value in collecting data, making sense of it all can often be an overwhelming task. As part of our entry for Unleashed Adelaide 2013, an open source data competition, we analysed the Social Health Atlas data to identify key drivers of poor child developmental outcomes. Based on the analysis we built a geographic visualisation dashboard that allows decision makers to test different intervention scenarios. This talk aims to demonstrate the value of predictive analytics and how it can be used to help key decision makers.
Presenter
Roger Noble Chief Technology Officer, Coritsu Group and Director, Coritsu Labs
Roger specialises in data visualisation and web development, having built several world leading data visualisation applications.
Member of award winning The-A-Team, from the 2013 South Australian Unleashed (Gov Hack) who along with Ben McNamara, Jarrad Taylor, Dr Marcus Brownlow and Dr Inna Kolyshkina developed a geographic visualisation Web app from the SA Social Health Atlas data to identify key drivers of poor child developmental outcomes and test various intervention strategies and predict the impact on the health outcomes of the region.
AGM
South Australia has a growing community of e-health
and health informatics proponents, leaders and experts. Our branch of HISA
continues to attract a diverse and influential audience across the spectrum of
health. HISA SA members will be invited to participate in the HISA SA AGM. We hope all HISA members in South Australia will be able to take part following the presentations.
