Innovation strategies in healthcare and HISA Queensland AGM
Creativity and innovation are an important aspect of healthcare and none more so than with the change of population demographic taking place.
With an ageing population, a shrinking younger population, growing knowledge of the developing countries, Australia needs to continue to innovate and be a society of measured risk takers. This process is in need of further understanding if we are to advance in e-health.
5.00pm - Crowdfunding - How to embrace it and use it
Funding for your e-health idea – a crowd funding approach to gather
investors, for example what has been achieved with “Fitbit”. International
speaker Paul Niederer will provide
further clarity surrounding this process.
Paul Niederer is one of world’s leading authorities in equity based crowdfunding investments and raising's. He has personally been involved in over $75 million of transactions with 90 different companies seeking capital. With the intense interest worldwide in the Crowdfunding Platforms, regulations and raising's, Paul is involved in consulting to a number of organisations and governments on how to structure their funding portals, processes and regulations to have successful raises with a fair deal for investors. Paul lives south of Brisbane on Australia’s eastern coast and relishes the opportunity to discuss peer to peer finance developments and any moves towards the democratisation of capital.

International speaker, Prof Andrew
Burton-Jones, University of Queensland Business School, will
advance your knowledge on reducing risk in e-health ICT systems when integrated
with EHR and will provide practical examples.

Prof Andrew Burton-Jones is a Professor of Business Information Systems at the
UQ Business School. He graduated from UQ’s Commerce program in 1998 and
worked for several years in IT risk management for one of the Big-4
accounting/consulting firms. He subsequently completed his PhD at Georgia State
University in Atlanta, USA, and served on the faculty of the University of
British Columbia, Canada, before returning to UQ in 2012. His research
focuses on learning how organisations can use information systems more
effectively. For example, he recently completed a large case study of the
effective use of electronic health records in community-care in British
Columbia, Canada.
5.40pm - To market, to market: Promoting personalised healthcare
Dr Nicole Hartley, UQ
Business School will touch on this large topic and provide some thought and
take away messages for current business and new start up business.
Dr Nicole Hartley is a research academic with the Business School at the University of Queensland. Nicole’s career as an academic has spanned 12 years at institutions in both Sydney and Queensland. Her teaching expertise is in advertising, marketing strategy, digital media and consumer behaviour. Nicole’s current research agenda focuses upon exploring customer perceptions of the advent of various technology and various degrees of virtuality in the delivery of services. This research is currently focused within the education and health industries.
