Understand how Strategic Sourcing and Contestability will
change the way ICT as a service is managed, and how it will apply to the health
community within Queensland.
The Queensland Government ICT strategy outlines recommendations
and priorities for the way in which ICT is managed and delivered, including
initiatives for ensuring ICT risk is reduced and cost effective solutions are
provided for the state of Queensland. This framework presents a new
approach for many organisations, including Queensland Health, and a complete
shift in the way ICT has previously been managed.
This session will focus on the latest activities undertaken by Queensland
Health in addressing ICT as a service and contestability, and the implications
that these activities will have on the broader health community.
At a whole-of-government level, it will present DSITIA's approach in delivering
against strategic ICT priorities, and the future direction of strategic
sourcing statewide.
Queensland is not the first state to have reviewed their approach towards ICT,
and this session will also explore insights from work undertaken by NSW
government and other leading organisations, presenting industry wide trends
associated with strategic sourcing within Australia.
