Dr Paul Ireland has long-standing professional interests in public health and clinical practice. Paul’s involvement in health services research and clinical practice improvement goes back to the late 1990s when he worked as Deputy Director of the National Cancer Control Initiative. Following a stint as Program Director at the National Institute of Clinical Studies and a period running his own consulting business specialising in knowledge translation, Paul took up the position of Manager of the Victorian Quality Council where he also had responsibilities for the Victorian Department of Health's knowledge management functions relating to health care quality and safety. With the creation of the Commission for Hospital Improvement, Paul manages the Quality Programs unit.
Professor Hal Swerissen is a leader in health
policy, management and program development, particularly in the analysis,
evaluation and quality improvement in primary health and community
services. He is currently Pro Vice Chancellor (Strategic Projects) and Professor of Public Health
at La Trobe University. He was previously Executive Dean of the Faculty
of Health Sciences. He holds a number of health related board appointments. He
has published more than 150 books, articles, reports and conference papers on
health and community services, policy and program development and evaluation.
Neville Board leads the
Information Strategy and Safety in e-health programs at the Australian
Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care.
His team is developing national indicators and datasets for health care quality
measurement, a standard "core” for hospital patient experience surveys, and
national arrangements for clinical quality registries.
Concurrently, the group developing standards for laboratory online order entry
and results reporting systems for surveillance of healthcare associated
infection (HAIs), and developing cumulative antibiogram standards to support
the national approach the antimicrobial stewardship, and publishes guides for
establishing hospital electronic medication management and discharge systems.
Previously, Mr Board has worked in clinical, informatics and healthcare
management roles in Australian and abroad.
