HISA's Victoria committee begin 2013 with a Speed Networking event!

How Does Speed Networking Work?
As an exhibitor you will be given 5 minutes to speak to a group of 8 – 10 delegates. The sound of the bell will indicate that your time is finished and delegates will need to move onto the next exhibitor. The structured Speed Networking will then be followed by an hour of unstructured networking allowing you to reconnect with any interesting people you met during the Speed Networking, or to meet with someone you haven’t already had the chance to.
The five golden rules of speed networking:

Bring business cards – at least 50 so you don’t run out.

Set objectives – you only have a short time with a group of individuals so it’s important to know what you want to achieve.

Listen as much as you talk – if not more. Networking isn’t all about sell, sell, sell and incessant babble could alienate possible future customers.

Practice your ‘elevator pitch’– you’ll only have one minute to wow your audience so practicing a punchy and precise overview of you and your business will create a great first impression.

Follow up – it sounds obvious but make sure the business cards you collect get put to good us.
