The new system will place South Australian public hospitals and health care sites at the forefront of advancements in e-health. It will transform our model of care by providing our health care professionals and administrative clinical staff with real time access to comprehensive patient information at the point of care. The implementation of EPAS is SA Health’s most significant e-health reform program by scale and impact. It will:
Professor Paddy Phillips is Chief Medical Officer for South Australia. He was previously Professor and Head of Medicine, Flinders University, Flinders Medical Centre and Repatriation General Hospital in Adelaide, Chair of the South Australian Clinical Senate and inaugural Chair of the South Australian Statewide Clinical Network in Cardiology and has been a member or chair of a number of national committees including for the NHMRC, Australian Government, RACP and Heart Foundation. He has also held senior clinical academic posts at the University of Melbourne followed by Oxford University and is Adjunct Professor of Medicine at Duke University, USA.
His interests are in building a better health system through innovation, collaboration and leadership and is the overall clinical lead for the implementation for the South Australian electronic health record (EPAS). He remains clinically active in Acute General Medicine.
Pam
Zervas is the Acting Business Change Director of the Enterprise Patient
Administration System (EPAS) Program.
Pam came on board to lead SA Health in the planning phase of the EPAS
Program and is currently working with the SA health system in the design and
build of the State’s first electronic health record. Pam has over 15 years of experience in
Government, and worked at KPMG as the National Information Systems Governance
Leader for a period of 5 years before establishing her own business, ZED
Business Management Consulting. Pam has
worked with a variety of private and public sector organisations over her
career, specialising in change management.
Her clients included Commonwealth Bank, Queensland Health, Victoria
Health, Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing, Australian Submarine
Corporation, Elders, Santos, SA Water and for the past 8 years has
predominantly worked in SA Health in various consulting and contracting roles.
