Dr Marchand will join an illustrious group of speakers to share with you their area of expertise in health informatics in short, 'shooter' style presentations. Following the presentations, all attendees will have the opportunity to introduce themselves to others and to spend 3 mins with each speaker at tables during an informatics speed networking session.

Dr Marchand Bio:
Dr. Marchand is a Senior Attending Physician with Medstar Health and the is the Director of Informatics in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington DC. He concurrently has an appointment as Assistant Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine. He has over 15 years of experience in Medicine and Medical Informatics, including extensive work with Azzyxi and Amalga in research and patient safety initiatives as well as developing ongoing quality assurance monitoring tools. He has a great interest in finding innovative ways to use health care data to improve patient outcomes as well as community health. He has been an invited speaker on the subjects at conferences around the world. Dr. Marchand is also the associate medical director for MedSTAR transport, providing medical oversight for both air and ground transports of over 400 critically ill patients each month. Dr. Marchand earned his Medical Degree at the Boston University School of Medicine and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Chicago Hospitals, where he served as chief resident in his final year.
