Equity, diversity and inclusion in AI.
Hosted by the AIDH VICTORIA Branch Committee
Artificial intelligence is increasingly shaping healthcare delivery, decision-making, and workforce practices. However, without deliberate attention to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), AI risks reinforcing existing biases and widening health and workforce inequities.
This event explores how EDI principles can be embedded across the AI lifecycle in healthcare — from data collection and model design to implementation, governance, and workforce capability. Drawing on real-world examples from digital health, participants will examine who AI works for, who may be left behind, and what practical steps organisations can take to ensure AI is ethical, inclusive, and fit-for-purpose.
Designed for clinicians, digital health professionals, technologists, researchers, leaders, and students, this session will support more responsible AI adoption aligned with Australia’s digital health priorities and values.
