Speaker Profiles
Rod Young
Rod has more than thirty years experience working in the health and aged care industries. His experience includes 10 years in health service management and 11 years in aged care.
During his career Rod has had extensive experience in managing complicated infrastructure projects, managing a teaching hospital complex, working on healthsystems re-design, developing health and aged care policy reform. He has a Bachelor of Law from UNSW and a Bachelor of Health Services Management also from UNSW.
Dr Nicole Brooke
Nicole is a passionate clinician and academic who has worked in aged care for morethan 15 years. Nicole has extensive senior management experience as a RegisteredNurse, Senior Nurse Educator, Operations Manager, Director of Nursing and currentlyResearch and Development Manager. Nicole has worked as a Senior Lecturer both atthe University of Technology, Sydney and currently with University of Tasmania. HerDoctorate of Philosophy explored case management in residential aged care andcarefully considered the increasing complexity and acuity within the sector alongwith the challenges involved in workforce and case management implementation. Dr Brooke has additionally been successful at influencing and determining policy improvements in the sector both at organisation and national levels. Nicole will provide a brief synopsis on preparing for implementation of electronic documentation in residential aged care.
Dr Stewart Sloggett
Stewart is a full time practicing General Practitioner at Elderslie (near Camden). He was formerly a member of the National Informatics Committee of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and the convener of the RACGP 10th Computer Conference in Sydney in 2000. Stewart is a board member of the Sydney South West GP Link (formerly Macarthur Division of General Practice) and currently chairs subcommittees on IT and aged care.
