Allied Health Informatics: Strengths and opportunities for allied health data and optimal health care
Hosted by the AIDH VIC branch
Many professions make up Allied Health in Victoria, and they are all an important part of a consumer’s health care journey – for preventative, holistic and longitudinal healthcare. As there is increasing focus on utilising interdisciplinary models of health care, how is Allied Health stacking up against Medical and Nursing disciplines when it comes to clinical informatics and digital health? With the release of the Digital Health Capability Framework for Allied Health Professionals in 2021, how are we progressing with the application of this framework in Allied Health? How can Allied Health data make a difference in improving health outcomes across the hospital and community sectors, do we need a standard clinical terminology dataset?
We will shine the spotlight on Allied Health clinical informatics and discuss improving workforce capability, strengthening access and sharing of Allied Health data, across inpatient and community settings and highlighting the benefit of Allied Health data and outcome measures for optimal health care. We will talk about some of the challenges as well as some amazing things being achieved in this space so far. Through a panel discussion with our expert speakers, will discuss what improvements could be made in the future, application of and strategies for the Digital Health Capability Framework in practice, My Health Record integration, and exploring interesting data journeys in the mental health sector.
