One of the most significant reforms to the Australian health care system will be the Strengthening Medicare agenda with the Australian Government committed to improving primary health care for all Australians. The Strengthening Medicare Report and the
recent Federal Budget outlined a clear vision for the primary care system. This will require a staged implementation plan to support the health sector to transform focused on policy, regulation and funding reform, combined with new commissioning models
and greater use of multi-disciplinary teams enabled by digital, data linkages, connected health information and technology.
