Consumer facing portals: Are they valuable?

Hosted by the AIDH WA branch

Digital health is changing the way consumers interact with their care providers and what they expect from their care. As our technologies and models of service delivery evolve, there is a responsibility to better understand the contemporary consumer, their concerns and needs from digital health practices. We will be hosting a panel discussion with a range of consumer representatives and patient portal providers to gain insight on emerging consumer priorities and how the development of platforms such as patient portals can change the consumer experience.

Various government and non government entities are proposing or deploying new Patient or Consumer Portals to provide secure access to their patient data, to help navigate the health system and to assist with on line health triage. The take up rate by consumers has been variable due to a range of reasons. This forum is about having a live panel with portal providers and consumers discuss the benefits and issues with on line digital health options for consumers.
