Listen to the presentation of ACT Health Pharmaceutical Services’ Deputy Chief Pharmacist, Michael Fitzsimons, about the benefits of the ACT’s real time prescription monitoring system and how the information in Canberra Script may assist
with clinical decisions on the safe and effective use of monitored medicines.
About the speaker
Michael Fitzsimons is the Deputy Chief Pharmacist, Pharmaceutical Services Section (PSS). He has over 32 years’ experience as a pharmacist, having previously worked in the community and military settings before making the move to regulatory
pharmacy. He has led the PSS operations team for the last decade and overseen the development and release of the ACT's real-time prescription monitoring systems: DORA in 2019 and its replacement, Canberra Script, which was launched on 24 February this year.
