FbT Journal Club - April 2019
Translational Research in Evidence-Based Decisions for Digital Health
Hosted by Brendan Loo Gee
Knowledge is one of the basis of providing high quality and safe medicine to patients and
consumers. Recent work in translational research has shown that the gaps between
evidence-based policy and practice and its application is extensive (bench to bedside), which
can lead to poor health outcomes. In digital health, these gaps are oblivious especially when
implementing digital health policy and solutions in clinical practice. As such, the knowledge
of digital health research and laboratory findings are often difficult to translate into the
application of health care delivery. This has often lead to poor uptake or stakeholder
engagement with digital health in actual practice. This journal club explore some of the
creative ways to bridge the gap between the research and practice of digital health.
