FbT Journal Class is one aspect of the learning program for the Fellowship by Training program. Candidates must attend and also present a minimum number of Journal Clubs during their time in the program. Whilst this event is targeted to the candidates in the program, members are welcome to attend.

Machine learning exists on a spectrum from the theoretical (information theory, ontologies, grammars, completeness) and the statistical (data-driven, bag of words). Schools of thought in artificial intelligence have oscillated between the two historically. In terns of current performance, data driven systems far outstrip their handcrafted knowledge based competitors.
