Presented by Michael Hosking

Digital Health Consultant, Clinnovation

Michael is passionate about assisting the collaboration of healthcare with electronic systems toward sustainable health systems and policies for optimal, equitable healthcare outcomes. He is an experienced, registered Occupational Therapist and has worked clinically for public health organisations across Victoria, Australia. Poor user experience, inefficient systems and interoperability issues provided inspiration to assist the change toward more effective healthcare system design.

Previously in roles with Orion Health developing their Hospital based products and with Precision Driven Health leading a research project, he is now working on the New Zealand Healthcare and Disability System Review in the Digital and Data workstream.

His interests lie in effective, sustainable health policies and digital technologies facilitated by clinically lead co-design and data-driven decision making. These approaches can enable improved healthcare research, clinical workflows and healthcare outcomes. Michael is driven to face healthcare challenges as opportunities for us to collaboratively explore new and alternative approaches with consumers and clinical users. He looks forward to when healthcare delivery and peoples experiences of managing their own health are enabled by secure digital technologies and effective artificial intelligence in a way that becomes seamless and invisible.
